The Time Traveller’s Wife
I don’t have any decent photos to share but The Volunteers did not disappoint. They sounded as great as when I first heard and instantly liked them (recently I had been questioning my enthusiasm) and I don’t think they stopped playing the whole time, jamming right from the start of their sound check to the end of their song and every moment between. The event was reported to start at 20:00, 21:00, 21:30 and 22:00 at different websites so we turned up alone at 22:00 and waited an hour for other people and eventually bands to turn up. The Wicks were good as usual, this time sounding more like a Kings Of Leon impersonation than a Modest Mouse one. Perhaps due to the delayed start George And Queen played last, but I was that interested and didn’t stick around. Nor did I see Pink Fluffy Islands, but their possible performance was only mentioned on The Wicks’ site.
Though I did attempt to get some numbers for an assignment today I watched more of Charlyne Yi after finally catching up with Kate Micucci who (along with her partner in Garfunkel And Oats, Riki Lindhome), as it happens, also plays at the Upright Citizens Brigade and likes Helen Hunt And The Twisters [Edit: Actually that is Charlyne playing with Kate! and Dave.]. Dear deer, I need to go to L.A..
People relax. There’s nothing wrong with bathing in the restaurant sink. You’d be hard pushed to find a restaurant where there isn’t a bigger contamination risk. So some people didn’t set the privacy on their photos and some busybody reported them, it’s not news. But here’s to people enjoying work.
Coincidence: People were talking about Babel in the car today and I brought up Crash (cringe-inducing, but deserves its credit), and how although I saw the blanks coming the best bits were the scene I saw as a promo (giving the daughter the cloak) and its follow-up (the shooting). It wasn’t until the credits were rolling on Shooter tonight (Colin needs to throw some stuff out so I was looking for the longest movie I’m not going to give more than two stars to) that I wondered if the supporting actor was the father from the scenes I mentioned. A few webpages later and I find he was in Babel but there’s no mention of his story line. Then I realise Babel≠Crash and find he was also the father in Crash. Coincidence? Similar movie choice? Disproportionally/disproportionately small amount of Mexican American actors? or just what happens when starring in three films each year?
Even care?
